Last weekend, football and a good giggle

Last weekend we got to have some fun with friends and family. On Saturday we had my old roomate Brenna and her new husband Nate over for dinner. Brenna had just had a gum graft done in her mouth and was quite entertaining with her no smile and barely opening her mouth to talk. I think Riley really like her. We had a lot of fun with you and can't wait to have you over again!

On Sunday we went over to Rachel and James' apt for lunch. Russell's parents called on Thursday and said they HAD/NEEDED to see Riley. As you can see they had a lot of fun. They played so much that Riley just pooped out.

On Tuesday night we made it to the 8th grade B team game. Riley enjoyed sitting in the bleachers with everyone else and chewing on his fingers. He did eventually get tired of being in his seat and did get out to play. There was the cutest 6 year old little boy sitting behind us and as soon as I pulled Riley out he leaned forward and said "Can I hold him pleeeeease". This little boy and Riley were instant friends. Riley watched some of the game, stared at some lights, he did check out the cheerleaders pom-poms. I don't think he was really into the girls that much though.


He loves his hand. I think if he could figure out how to get his entire fist in his mouth he would put it there and chew chew chew.
Earlier today Riley was in such a good mood and he would just giggle everytime you tickle him under his neck. Russell discovered that the other day when he was changing his diaper. Today is the first day I have seen the big giggle really!



Riley and I are taking our first big road trip to Searcy to see Terri Lee. So, I may not post any more until we get back next Wednesday. We are going to be gone from Sunday-Wednesday. My dad is going to go with us. It just happens to be Harding's lectureship so dad is looking forward to that. Riley can't wait to meet you Aunt Terri!

An afternoon with friends

Yesterday afternoon, Riley and I loaded up and headed over to the Chamblee's house to play. After about 4 weeks of live in help from family they are having to do it all by themselves now. So I volunteered to watch the twins so Alli could take a break and run some errands. This next picture pretty much sums up the afternoon. Jake and Mallory spent a majority of the afternoon sleeping and Riley played on the mat.

Riley is finally figuring out how to grab onto things. He liked this toy for a long time yesteday.
This is mostly what Jake did yesterday with a few grunts and groans here and there. Sweet baby boy! Here is the sweet baby girl.
They make some pretty funny faces while they are sleeping. Here are just a few examples.

Mallory finally woke up for a little while and was nice enough to take some pictures with Riley. They are just warming up to each other in this first picture. Riley is being a typical man and his eyes are fixed on the big TV.
Riley pulled the stretch and put your arm around your girlfriend move. Mallory was not impressed by that smooth move or the fact that Riley is still paying more attention to the TV than to her.
When it came right down to it, this is the best we got. Jake never woke up to play so there aren't any BFF pictures.

Well, that sums up our afternoon with the Chamblee Twins. We had a great time and can't wait to do it again. I am so excited that our kids will get to grow up together. There are going to be so many more afternoons with these sweet friends and I can't wait to photo document them all.

Rolling over and waking up

Well, we just had a first here at our house. Riley turned over from his back to his tummy all on his own. YAY Riley!! He has been working on it since yesterday and he finally made it all by himself.

Now onto a few pictures from when I went to get him up from his nap. He is always pretty happy when we go get him up. Have a great week!

New Header

Well, as you can see I have a new header, I made it myself using scrapblog.com, the only problem is that the header doesn't fit into the space provided. Anyone have any ideas how to fix that? Also, I am curious about how to change the colors on my blog without having to use one of the basic templates. Anyone out there who can help me?? Thanks...

3 Months Old

Yesterday our little mister turned 3 months old. I can't believe how big he is getting. I think he grows a little bit more everyday. He is getting to be so much fun. He is responding more to my voice and to his daddy's voice. He gets happy and will smile when you are talking to him. He is still such an easy going baby. I am only having to wake up once a night with him and on the rare night (like last night) he will actually sleep from 11-6:30 and then go back to sleep until 10 after he eats. He is outgrowing his 0-3 month old clothes and he is already starting to wear his 3-6 month clothes. I am not sure those will last him to 6 month, I think he might outgrow them in length. He doesn't really mind tummy time, he just doesn't want to do it for a long time. He is really starting to pay attention to his toys more, still not really grasping onto them or holding them but interested in them. He has a set of keys that he likes to chew/suck on as long as you hold it in his mouth. We just love him a little bit more every day. Here are some pictures of our big boy!

I am not sure what this face is, but it cracks me up.
He started to get a little upset towards the end. I only took a few pictures, but he is so cute when he starts to stick out that bottom lip.
And then he just got mad! So we went and took a bath.
I took this picture the other day he looks so chill and laid back. His little arms are just resting on the bumbo.

Today my dad had an appointment at the VA hospital so he decided to come by and see us. Riley apparently wore poppy out.
This was before his 3 month photo shoot. I am obsessed with him!

Riley started staying with Aunt Rachel this week while I started teaching voice. I am only teaching two days a week and so far I am really enjoying it. I was wiped out by wednesday. It is going to take a few weeks to get used to the schedule, but I know it is going to be great. You can check out how Riley's first day with Aunt Rachel was here.

Baseball, bald spot and just a cute baby

I was downloading pictures this morning and found these two pictures that Russell took the other night. If you can't tell what's on the TV it is the Rangers. Russell and Riley have been watching them together pretty much since he was born.

If you look closely you can see the spot on the back of his head that he has rubbed off. It is his only bald spot so far.

A couple of days ago Riley was taking a nap and he just looked so cute and was so easy to pose for what I thought turned out to be some great pictures.

This morning I put him in his bumbo for just a little and I got some great big happy smiles.
