Friday Fun

We started off the day with Mickey Mouse pancakes. Notice the golf tees in hand. He loves to play with Daddy's golf tees right now. He always wants one in his hand. 

We were able to go see my FIL and his basketball team play in a big basketball game at TJC yesterday. They had made it to the 2nd or 3rd round of the play-offs.  We were so very proud to go watch the Mustangs play. They didn't win, but they played hard and have had a really great year. Riley was not great during the game, but after the game he went down with Russell to see the girls and Grandy. He also rode on the school bus to eat lunch with the team. He thought he was big stuff. 

Flat Caleb Goes to Lunch

Today we ate lunch with Nana and Poppy and Flat Caleb came along. Nana did not make any of the pictures. I am showing you three pictures mostly for my sister. She will understand more than anyone. I was trying to get Daddy and Riley to smile for the camera, you can see how well that went.

Daddy: Not smiling, Riley: Not sure what he is doing, Flat Caleb: ?

Daddy: Thinking about it, Riley: Perfect, Flat Caleb: Beautiful

Daddy: It's the best he can do. Atleast he is smiling a little with his eyes, Riley: ?, Flat Caleb: Again perfect.

So not a perfect picture in the shoot, but now you understand why we don't take family picture more often.

Friday Fun

Friday we got in the car as soon as Kenzie came over and hit the road to DFW. We had good friends to see and I was dropped Riley off to spend the weekend with Aunt Rachel, Uncle James and Maverick. (Riley is very adamant that no one gets forgotten. I couldn't get Kenzie in the picture, but Riley and Flat Caleb made it. Aren't they so handsome. They were entertained by Finding Nemo on the way there. Riley needs a few more views before he gets it.

We started the morning off in Frisco with Allison and Elizabeth. They had lots of fun and it was so good to spend the morning with a good friend. 

Then we backtracked and had lunch with Alli, Jake and Mallory. Again Riley had to get everyones name down and had to know exactly what we were doing. We met them at Chick fil a and then headed to the park to play.

I took like 10 pictures of them on the bench and not a single one of them was good. Three 2 year olds don't get it. All of them were really good at saying cheese, just not really good at looking at the camera.

And I guess you could say this is a picture worth holding on to so I can show all of his friends in High School and really embarrass him one day. 

So glad I was able to spend some time with good friends and thanks Rachel, James and Maverick for entertaining Riley for the weekend. I know he had the best time. Russell and I enjoyed not having to do anything. We even went out for dinner on Saturday at like 8:30. We never leave the house after 7 most nights. I felt like such a rebel.

Today we went and got my car washed. Riley loved watching the washer thingies clean the cars.

Happy Valentines Day

Today was the perfect day for lunch outside and playing in this beautiful weather. We loved every bit of sunshine today! We didn't do anything Valentinesy. I think I was all valentined out after our party on Friday!

Random Ramblings

I have continued to work on memorizing my bible verses. I am up to 3 now and will start a 4th this week. I can't believe it has gone by so quickly. I don't think I posted any of my verses other than the 1st. So here they all are and I will try to post number 4 this week.

1. "Consider it pure joy my brothers and sisters whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance." James 1:2-3

2. "And in all things God works for the good of those that love him who have been called according his purpose." Romans 8:28

3. "Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer." Romans 12:12

I am so proud of myself I typed them out without looking at anything and then I looked them up just to see how I did. For the most part I got everything right. I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful it has been to have these verses on my heart day after day.

I have made it through one and half months of my resolutions and that is longest I have kept up with any of my new years resolutions, EVER. I think it makes a difference when you actually enjoy doing them. Granted I have been playing catch up with blogging lately. But I go through each day making sure I have something or a picture worth blogging about once I get around to it. So that has to count for something right?

I am starting a new Kindermusik class tomorrow and I am so excited about that. After not being able to fill one class last semester I was a little dissapointed and thought it would never take off like I was hoping. I am teaching 3 classes this semester and the other lady I work with is teaching 3 classes. For the most part they are full and I can now actually see a future in this. Russell asked me tonight if teaching this was everything I wanted it to be. I told him it was even better than I thought and that I absolutely love it. Over the last 5 years I have had a random assortment of jobs, but I see myself doing this for a long time. If you have little ones and live in an area that has Kindermusik classes available I encourage you to take your kids and give it a try.

OK enough ramblings from me. I am off to get ready for another week. If I don't post any more this week I will catch up on Friday or Saturday. Riley is going to spend the weekend with Aunt Rachel and Uncle James so I am going to have a little spare time on my hands! Can't wait!

Cake Decorating Class-Lesson 2

Had a great afternoon decorating a cake. It was so fun. I am learning great new techniques. I made a cake for a baby shower tomorrow and I think it turned out super cute. Here is the mess I made.

Here is the finished project! I hope it tastes good, if not atleast it looks good!

Daddy the Coach

Today we were able to go watch Daddy coach. This is a rare opportunity since games are normally during the week and we can't make it cause of my work schedule. So, it is always fun to get to go watch Daddy. Riley loved it and yelled so loud from the stands "Go Dadddy!", "Go Mustangs!", and "Go Grandy!". It was a great way to spend the morning.

Heart Party Play-Date

Since it's February I decided that our monthly play-date with our good friends would be heart themed. It was so much fun. The kids had a great time I think. We did heart crafts, ate heart grilled cheeses and ended the day with yummy cupcake. Thanks for coming to play friends. Can't wait until next month.

Flat Caleb and Kindermusik

Today we got a new addition to our family in the mail. Say hello to Flat Caleb. He is going to stay at our house until sometime and March and we have to take him on lots of adventures and document those adventures. I hope he likes doing all things 2 year old. My nephew Caleb, sent us Flat Caleb for a school project. Riley loves everything about Flat Caleb and asks about him all the time.

Here we are at Kindemusik class on Thursday. My sister in law and the kids have been in town since Tuesday to pass the time a little quicker with my brother gone to TMEA. I invited them to come join us at class and the kids had a great time. When Norah got there Riley told the other kids in class that she was his "Best Cousin". That just melted my heart. I love how much our kids get along and love to play with each other. I can't wait to watch them grow up.

Oh, and then after a long day of playing and working Mommy went to bunco with the girls. It was a wonderful day! 

Saturday-Wednesday

Ok, so instead of doing 4 seperate posts I just decided to give you the run down of the last 4 days in one post. Hopefully I will get more post worthy pictures the rest of the week.

SATURDAY

I had my first cake class. It was ok, but I can't wait for this saturday where I get to decorate an entire cake. Yay! This class was intro and how to make the icing and just practicing with a few icing tips. I will for sure take pictures of my cake and post that this saturday. 

SUNDAY

We had church and then a a superbowl party at our friends Tim and Tori's. Have I mentioned that I love our group from church. Here are a few pictures documenting the party.

This is supposed to be a helmet, but I'm not sure. When the couple that ordered it picked it up from the store no one would claim that they were the one that decorated. I think that proves how not good it is.

MONDAY

This was a laundry and clean the house day. I taught in the afternoon. That's our typical monday. NOTHING worthy of a picture.

TUESDAY

Kindermusik ABC class and I meant to bring my camera and forgot. I hope to get more Kindermusik classes as the semester continues. I am having so much fun teaching them and Riley is loving going to them. We did make a trip to Target and got Riley some rainboots. (As of today they are now galoshes cause thats what they were called on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse)

WEDNESDAY

Now here are the pictures you have all been waiting on. The footy pajamas with the rainboots  galoshes I mean. He loves them. In fact he loves all shoes. Last week when he was sick, I knew it was bad cause he didn't once ask to put shoes on. He wears shoes all day. I think he would sleep in them if I let him. We are still doing breathing treatments to hopefully get rid of his yucky cough. 

Russell got out of school early today and I am not teaching this afternoon since the weather is supposed to get bad. I am looking forward to a wonderful, fun family night here. I hope everyone is staying warm.
