Tummy time and the accidental roll

Well, blogger deleted my original text so I have to do it all over again. That stinks because I am pretty sure I can't write the same thing twice. I will try though.

I can't believe how big our little mister is getting. Riley has been having some great tummy time lately. Here are a few pictures of the success he has been having.

He has also been accidentally rolling over for the last few weeks. I was lucky enough to get one on video last night. He usually gets pretty mad when he rolls over, but this one was just a little bit upsetting.

Last Friday before school started Riley decided that he wanted to see where Daddy worked. So we loaded up and off we went. Everyone at school was very impressed with our little boy.

I have been tryin to capture a good smile for almost a month now. I finally got close so here are a couple of smile pictures.

This was just a video I took this afternoon. I think it is pretty stinking cute. He is just talking and having fun. I hope you enjoy!

Russell has successfully made it halfway through the first week of school. It hasn't been a bad half a week, so hopefully this will be a great year. I am loving being a stay at home mom. It has been so nice to cook dinner and be able to work on getting the apt set up. I look forward to more cooking and being able to keep a clean and organized place for us to live.

I went and got my ID badge to teach voice today and I am so excited. I can't wait to get started. I am a little nervous but I know it will be wonderful. Well, I am off to get dinner on the table before we leave for small group. Have a great week!

The Apple doesn't fall far from the tree...

I thought it only appropriate for this to be the first picture for this blog. I personally think it's a pretty accurate statement.

Now, on to the point of this blog. For those of you who have said to us "I think he looks like his daddy," let me show you proof of just how right you are. This first picture is of Russell when he was 5 days old.

So, for those of you who have questioned where Riley's good looks come from, I don't think you have to wonder at all. Riley is definitely Russell's child. Since he didn't get his looks from me I am a little concerned as to what things he might have gotten from me. I hope it is not one of my lesser redeeming qualities. (stubbornness, sassiness, just to name a couple) I guess we will have to wait and see.

I can't think of a great title

Last Friday my good friend Allison finally had her twins. Riley has been waiting all summer for his BFF and future wife to get here. Russell and I went up to the hospital a week ago to meet them. We left Riley at home with Nana so he didn't get to meet them until later.

Riley kept asking all week if he could go meet them and so on Thursday I finally gave in. He really wanted to make a good impression, so we put on a really cute shirt courtesy of Cara Wonders and her wonderful sister Lucy. (more on those two later) Jake and Mallory were very cooperative for a photo shoot. My child couldn't keep his hands still. This resulted in Alli having to hold his hands and we would count to three and she would move them as fast as possible. It was pretty amusing to us parents. I didn't want Riley to give them a black eye on their first meeting.



This week Riley also experienced a first. He got to meet my good friend Kaela or as I have called her for years KK. He loved cuddling with her. She liked him so much that she came back later this week and cooked dinner for me just so she could play with him again! Thanks KK, I can't wait fo sushi night! Yummy!
This is just a random picture that I don't think made it on blog yet. This summer Riley went to camp for the first time. He slept most of the time he was there, but I think he really liked it and can't wait to go back!
Well, the move went fine. We are in our new apartment and it is so spacious. Things are not quite all unpacked but that is such a slow process and even slower with a 10 week old. Russell starts school tomorrow. That's about it for now. I will try to get a few more posts in this week. Have a great week everyone!

Just a short video

Look at me, two post in one day. I have decided that the computer may be more fun than packing! This one is mostly for the grandparents out there, but I thought a few of you may enjoy it. Like I said on his 2 month post he is starting to like his play mat. I don't know if our son is a genius or if it is just a coincidence, but the light and music come on when there is anything that moves the play mat. He kicks it, it comes on and he seems to be happy with that. Since I am his mom I think I can say he is a genius. I will let you decide for yourself. You can keep your comments to yourself if you are going to say he anything other than genius. Also, if you watch closely you will kind of see a smile. Happy viewing.

2 Months Old!!!!

Weight: 10lbs 12oz

Length: 23 1/4 inches

He was a trooper at his dr appointment today. He got two shots and only cried a little, he didn't even cry enough for me to tear up! That is one good boy. Since then he has been eating and sleeping for most of the day. Here are some of his two month old pictures. I couldn't pick a favorite.

He hasn't quite figured out that he is supposed to look at the camera for the pictures, but we are working on that.

This is the closest I could get to a smile, I can tell he is going to have such a fun personality.
These were the last few pictures and then it was over, I think he got a little tired.

Some things Riley is doing at 2 months old...

*He will coo and smile when he is talked to sometimes.

*He is just starting to become interested in his little playmat. He will stare at the light on it when it comes on.

*He is starting to have some really stinky diapers. That is a new thing I am not crazy about.

*He still loves his bath.

*He is holding his head up for longer periods of time everyday.

*He is starting to find his thumb on his right hand. He got mad the other day when I was changing his diaper before he got fed because he found his thumb, but it didn't have any milk in it. It was pretty funny!

He is becoming such a fun baby and he is so easy going. He cries when he wakes up from sleeping or when he wants to eat. Other than that he is a pretty content little guy.

Just a quick update on the packing. It is going well and I think things are going to go smoothly. I can't wait to get it over with though. Saturday cannot get here quick enough. See you after the move! Maybe I will have some new apt pictures by then as well!

Ok so I think these next two pictures will explain the lack of blogging lately.

If you guessed moving from those pictures then you need a gold star! For the 4th time since we have been married we are moving yet again. I hate moving with a passion. So, I need to get back to packing but I wanted to atleast leave you some pictures of our cute little man.

Riley got to meet D'Lynn this past Monday on a recent trip to Paris to see the great-grandparents. I am not going to say it was love at first site, but I think he will like her better when he is happy!Great-grandad and Riley having a serious moment on the swing. I think grandad was telling Riley about the pony he was going to get him and tellin him all about how to raise some cows.
Riley also got to meet my good friend Randy this week. Riley and I both loved your new house.
Ok, so I am telling you now that you shouldn't expect any more post until after we move. So we might be back in about a week and a half. We go to the dr on Monday for his 2 month check. I can't believe my baby is going to be two months old on Sunday. I guess I will give you his stats sometime next week so you might not have to wait as long as I thought.
