OOOOOOO-Oklahoma

Last weekend Russell had Friday off from scouting so we loaded up and went to Oklahoma to see some good friends. We have been trying to get up there since Riley was born, but we had something almost every weekend and then school started. So I went and picked up Russell from school and off we went. I thought that if I fed Riley right before we left he would sleep most of the way there. Well, Riley wanted nothing do with that idea so he cried and cried and cried some more. After almost an hour of him crying and me crying about half that long, we stopped in Ardmore and he ate again and we got some Braums. He did much better for the rest of the drive and we finally made it to Edmond. Waiting for us in a cute little apartment were two really excited people, Rachel and Canaan.

Canaan could not get enough of Riley. That smile was a permanent fixture all weekend.

Canaan made Rachel a little nervous with Riley. I think Riley had a lot of fun though.
On Saturday we went and spent the afternoon with Caleb and Addi Panter. Caleb and Russell have been friends since Caleb was born. Riley was showing off his Texas pride all day and Caleb agreed with that.
Riley loved Addi and I am pretty sure she felt the same way. (Riley wouldn't look at the camera because there was a big TV on and he was watching football.)

I had never been on the OC campus so we went on a tour. We decided to take a picture of Riley with this wooden eagle to document his prescence there. Russell is doing the "talon" with his hand in case you were wondering why he is clawing the air.

You can sort of see the picture of the Longhorn in the background. Caleb's grandpa painted that for him. They thought it only appropriate to take a picture in front of it in the Texas gear. What you can't see in this picture is that Russell has on some Texas shorts that are almost like capris.

See I told you they loved each other.
On Sunday we had some tacos with the Burkett's and took some family pictures. You could almost say that Riley has another set of grandparents since Evan and Rachel were Russell's adopted family in college.
Between Canaan and Levi, Evan and Rachel really didn't get a lot of Riley time. Maybe next time.

We had so much fun in Oklahoma and can't wait to go visit again. Thanks Burketts for putting us up. We love you guys!
